Bio Sketch

Geethanjali Rajan teaches Japanese and English in the city of Chennai, India. She writes prose, opinion pieces, haiku, tanka, haibun and other forms of poetry. Her writing can be found in various international journals online and some, in print. She is currently the editor of haiku at Cattails (UHTS).

  1. L1 sets the theme and mood while the rhythmic movement of threshing grain in Ls 2&3 enhances the visual and emotional aspects of the haiku. And Geethanjali's glimpse-of-farming-life haiku reminds me one of my own, which I think could be read as its sequel:

    the rice song
    mother sang to me ...
    first spring rain
