Bio Sketch
Corine Timmer lives in the countryside in the south of Portugal. She is an interior designer, animal lover, and a self-published author. Haiku crossed her path by accident in 2015 and she’s been hooked ever since. Corine’s haiku have been published in several on and offline haiku journals and anthologies. She won awards in 2017 and 2018.
The juxtaposition of a fallen bird egg and the speaker's 4th attempt at IVF is visually and emotionally poignant, and on a second reading, the opening image (Ls 1-3) could be read as a foreshadowing of the result of the closing statement (Ls 4&5).
