Bio Sketch
Marion Clarke is from the east coast of Northern Ireland. Growing up surrounded by the scenic shores of Carlingford Lough, the Mourne Mountains and Kilbroney Forest Park, she was destined to write haiku.
L1 sets the theme (of spring cleaning ?) while L3 is layered with multiple meanings, and on a second reading, L1 takes on symbolic significance.
ReplyDeleteThe "bluer" "wild" bluebells in Ls 2&3 could function like a window to the world of flora diversity or a window to the world outside.
And it might be interesting to do a thematic comparison reading of my haiku below:
breezy woodland
I listen
to a sea of bluebells

Thank you for featuring my haiku, Chen-ou. It was indeed inspired by a bout of recent spring cleaning!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention in my bio that my hometown is Warrenpoint, which is close to a magical bluebell wood on the grounds of Narrow Water Castle. Your haiku feels like it could have been written there!
Fantastic Marion.
