Poetic Musings: Snow on Snow Haiku by Marion Clarke

snow on snow

the surround sound

of white

NeverEnding Story , January 22, 2025

Marion Clarke

Commentary: L1 sets the scene and mood while unexpected yet multi-sensorily and emotionally evocative L3 makes this "snow haiku" fresh and meditatively effective: the N is "sound-bathing" in a world of one color.

And it might be interesting to do a thematic comparison reading of the following haiku:

winter solitude --

a world of one color

the sound of wind

Basho

And my haiku below could be read as a sequel to Marion's:

home alone

listening

to the snowlight
