  1. The humor in this Issa-esque haiku is quiet and observational rather than overtly jokey. The notion of “making friends / with the wind” (Ls 2&3) as a consequence of losing one’s hair (L 1) is subtle, understated, and broadly relatable.

    L3 re-contextualizes the shaved head introduced in the opening, lending the poem a sense of motion and tactile sensation.
