ruches of pink
ruffle the setting sun ...
you look at me
one last time before
saying goodbye

Bio Sketch
Shloka
Shankar is a freelance writer residing in India. Her work appears in
over two dozen international anthologies. Her haiku, haiga and tanka
have appeared in numerous print and online journals. She is also the
editor of the literary and arts journal, Sonic Boom.
The riveting prefatory image in the upper verse is logically metaphoric or at least resonates closely with the emotional point of the main statement in the lower verse. And Shloka's effective use of enjambment in L4 adds extra emotional weight to the poem.
