Marietta
Jane McGregor is a Canberra-based botanist and journalist who has
pursued varied careers in research and science communication at
Australian universities and the CSIRO. Having spent much of her life
trying to explain things, Marietta now tries to let them explain
themselves through an early love, haiku.
L1 sets the seasonal context while the freshly captivating image of "sheepdogs bark[ing] the fog/off the sun" in Ls 2&3 enhances the emotionally suggestive power of the poem
