Bio Sketch

Rachel Sutcliffe has suffered from a serious immune disorder for over 15 years, throughout this time writing has been her therapy, keeping her from going insane. She is an active member of the British Haiku Society and has been published in various journals including Shamrock, Lynx, Frogpond and The Heron’s Nest.

  1. Rachel's effective use of a pivot results in seeing this poem from two different perspectives (top-down and bottom-up) that create different visual foci.

    The absence of punctuation creates an ambiguity that helps stir the reader's imagination, prompting him/her to explore the many possible layers of meaning from different angles.
