The thematically significant and emotionally resonant juxtaposition of "spring departing" and "butterfly shadow" lifts the poem out of the ordinary, and a "butterfly shadow" (not a "butterfly," a symbol of transformation/spiritual growth)on my hand adds symbolic significance and psychological depth to the poem.
