Barbara
Tate is an award winning artist & writer. She is a member of the
Haiku Society of America and the British Haiku Society. Her work has
appeared in Modern Haiku, Frogpond, Santa Fe Literary Review, Presence, Hedgerow, The Heron's Nest and NeverEnding Story, among others. She currently lives in Winchester, TN.
The jux. of two allusive phrases (Biblical parable of the mustard seed and a popular saying, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks") makes the haiku emotionally effective.
