Bio Sketch

Neena Singh is the author of Whispers of the Soul—The Journey Within and One Breath Poetry—a journal of haiku, senryu & tanka. A former banker, she runs a non-profit for underprivileged children in Chandigarh, India.

  1. The jux. of a "new moon" (invisible from the earth) and "mother's story half-told" (for whatever reason) is visually and emotionally effective. And symbolically speaking, a new moon, which is the start of a new lunar cycle, symbolizes new beginnings, functioning well as a foreshadow of the speaker's mother's story unfolding into a clear life picture.
