  1. This is a fine example of haiku noir: setting (Ls 1&3) and the role/implication of a sniffer dog (L2).

    And the visually arresting and symbolically rich image of a blood moon over the seemingly boundless wilderness enhances the mood and atmosphere of the haiku.

    This haiku noir reminds me of one of my tanka noir:

    HR in red
    scrawled on a half-burnt door ...
    the barks
    of cadaver dogs
    echo in smoky twilight
