  1. The jux. of a barren scene of the present (no more ... /the majestic Peepal tree) and a mental image of the past (rustling of leaves/chatter of parrots) sparks the reader's emotions and reflection on the relationship between man and nature/environment. The use of the sacred tree, the Peepal tree, also known as the Bo-Tree (from the Sanskrit Bodhi: "wisdom", "enlightened") adds religious depth to the poem.
